Campaign against smartphones

You can listen to a BBC radio interview (via the link below) with one of our school families. The Townsend family started a campaign to get parents to sign up to not allowing smartphones to children below Y10.

Dad John, who works for UNICEF and is particularly invested in children's mental health, has been spearheading this in the Farnham area. Surrey is currently second in the league (of support) nationally and St Peter's are top of the leader board in Surrey. This is all down to his campaigning.

A BBC Surrey reporter reporter visited the Townsend home and interviewed dad and the two children.  It's interesting and the children sound great!

The live link (starts at 2:11 in the link above) did cut out unfortunately after the first few mins in the pre-breakfast interview but the lady they interviewed afterwards was full of praise for St Peter’s as the leading Surrey school community in engaging with this movement. A pre-recorded segment adn interview with the children was played back at the very end of the show, starting at 3:48:00.
